The City and the Pillar Gore Vidal
Publisher: Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group

€Once you start talking to people and they make the choice of a place to sit, you start getting the impression that you're moving from place to place, that you're covering the entire city from pillar to post, really. We provide the community with a passionate, trustworthy, informed point of view on local music, arts, culture, food & drink, sports, politics and news. Like any self-respecting American who considers himself even the slightest but literarily inclined, I was already a fan of Vidal's work. In any case, I never felt Vidal's sexuality was the point: he told us as much about his romantic life in his first novel, “Williwaw,” and in “The City and the Pillar,” as I find necessary. During those days, most of what I learned about homosexuality I found in literature, such as Gore Vidal's book, “The City and the Pillar,” which ironically was published about the same time I was born. REVIEW: As one of the first novels about homosexuality, the story is contemporary and interestingly relevant to the exploration of one's sexuality. The City knew it was time to upgrade an old, dilapidated, unsafe above ground park but funds were limited and resources were tight. Just finished Gore Vidal's “The City and the Pillar,” a novel to which I should have treated myself years ago. The author, essayist, playwright, screenwriter and gay icon was 86 years old, whose most well-known novels were Myra Breckinridge, Two Sisters and Lincoln. €It is my wish to photograph people of all nationalities, who have made the decision to move from Ireland for economic reasons[:] in and around the city, juxtaposed with landscapes that are significant to their pasts. Vintage, 1948, re-released 1965, 1995. Smile Politely is Champaign-Urbana's independent online magazine. "Too hot to be wrestling."Bob laughed and suddenly grabbed him.
